Most of Kentucky’s students have been virtually learning for most of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that hasn’t stopped SSA from reaching out to the kids of the Winchester community. SSA is always looking for ways to educate the future generation about the Environment.
SSA recently took the opportunity to get kids thinking about the environment through their Partner in Education, Justice Elementary. The school was hosting a drive by event where parents picked up 7 weeks’ worth of educational activities for students to complete. SSA provided 330 kids with a craft activity bag. They were challenged to make an environmentally inspired craft with the supplies provided as well as answer the question “What is one way you and your family can take care of the Environment?”.
SSA’s CSR Committee reviewed submissions and picked a winner for each grade, K-5. Each winner received a gift card for them and their families to visit the Explorium of Lexington, an interactive art and science museum.
